What are Stat-Fields?
To put it simply Stat-Fields are essentially what determine the overall strength of a given character, both in battle and out of it. They provide a means of a sorts to balance power evenly between characters and ensure that the game is kept fun and fair to all involved....That said...there are three Stat-Fields which will be used in combat and in determining something called the Power Rating of a character. They are:
Hp (Health Points)
Mp (Magic Points)
Ap (Action Points)
Defined uniquely as, first the overall health condition of a character, next the amount of a character's magic reserves and lastly their physical capabilities. Each will be used in a specific way in order to guide the overall progression of a battle, quest or even a regular topic if need be. They are not meant to hinder creativity for they will do no such thing other then to help realistically define a roleplaying environment and settle any conflicts that could arise through in character actions against both npc's and pc's.
Stat-Fields Applied in Combat
In battle, whether your character is fighting a npc opponent or a player character, each stat-field is used to determine the over flow of battle, and hopefully will lead it to a decisive end. Below are descriptions of how each field will be used effectively and how they help determine a logical outcome of a battle.
Health Points: This should be rather self-explanatory; Hp or health points determine the overall health condition of your character and as such should the reach a level of 0 the character in question would become exhausted and be forced to withdraw from battle or in certain instances faint.
Magic Points: Mp or magic points determine a character's overall potential to cast spells; and if exhausted that character would thus be unable to further tap into their magical abilities.
Action Points: Ap or action points govern a character's ability to react physically to a given situation. This includes dodging, and attacking with any technique of a physical nature. Should a character's action points be reduced to 0, that character would not be able to attack with a physical style technique or dodge; and if they have also exhausted their Magic points, they would be forced to flee the field of battle.
Power Rating
The Power Rating of a character is the sum total of his or her's stat-fields and it determines how many abilities a character may have; in addition to their strength in comparison to other player characters and npc foes. In the future, it will play a larger role in determining the conditions of storyline arcs and possible special character related events.
