Here on Awakened Hearts, you may have noticed that the power system we have in place makes characters start off rather weak. Do not fret however, this is both intentional and a part of ensuring fair play and the equality among all characters, regardless of canon and original material. With that said, you are probably wondering how exactly your character will be able to grow; and if there is any real point behind the process.
In this case, the answer is yes on both accounts. Through an experience system we like to call Training Points (tp for short), a player may upgrade his or her character's stat-fields, and purchase new abilities and techniques.
Now what exactly are Training Points?
Think of training points as our version of experience points. Through various activities, such as simple roleplaying topics, player vs player battles, player vs npc battles, quests and other yet to be determined plot driven events, a character may accumulate Training Points, in addition to Munny and on some occasions roleplay significant items.
How are Training Points Tracked?
Well that might be easier than you think. At the end of a given event that rewards Tp, all characters involved, whom received rewards, will have their character pages updated by a staff member. Character Pages are located within the Character Storage section, which is in turn located within the Character Improvements forum.
How do I spend my Training Points and what do they earn my character?
In the Character Improvement forum, you will see two pinned topics. One of such is labeled the Pillar of Knowledge and the other is named the Pillar of Experience. As a player, whenever one or possibly more of your character's have spendable points, you will go to one of these pages and purchase what you would like.
The Pillar of Experience deals with Stat-fields; so in order to increase your character's Hp, Mp and Ap, all you must do is post here, and assuming you have sufficient means, a staff will update your character page. Conversely, the Pillar of Knowledge is where a player goes to purchase a new ability should their character have an open ability slot available to them.
How much does a single Training Point up a given stat-field?
For every Tp spent in a given stat-field, that stat-field is increased by a variable of +1. For example: Roxas has 25 Hp, if I distributed one training point, his hp would be raised to 26.
What is the point of increasing my Character's Stat-fields?
Well for one, for every point in Hp, Mp, and Ap, a character's power rating increases. The higher your power rating the more abilities your character can have. Also, with a higher power rating, your already known abilities will increase in strength. For every ten power rating (increasing from the base of 45), all your techniques and abilities will increase in damage by a variable of 1. Please note however, that this does not include items.
In addition, Power Rating is used to determine the difficulty of quest-oriented battles, the strength deficit between characters and in certain cases, the overall turn-out of a story-line event.
