What is Awakened Hearts?
Awakened hearts is a literate role playing forum, for intermediate to advanced role players. If you're new to role playing, that's okay. We will guide you along the way into becoming a literate role player.
What must I do to join?
Well first of all, you might want to start by registering for an account here. Secondly, you will want to make a character. Should your character be accepted, it will be moved to the approved character board, and you will be ready to role play.
What are canon characters? How can I play as a canon character?
A canon character is a character that is designed by any gaming company, manga artist or animation corporation. It is a character from an actual source medium. You can play as a canon character only if someone else on this site is not playing as them. When creating a canon, you create it as if you were making an Original Character, or OC.
Keep in mind when creating a canon, that you keep their personality and appearance. We don't want to have confusion between a Canon and an OC.
What if I don't want a canon character?
If you don't want a canon character, that's okay. Here on Awakened Hearts, we allow Original Characters. Remember however, there are a few things to keep in mind when creating an OC.
- Personality And Appearance: If you create a character that looks like a canon, and acts like a canon, but has a different name, it isn't an Original piece of work is it? Be original, and be specific.
- Interaction: Your character may know of other characters, but they don't know them personally. Sorry, but it's only realistic if the two characters meet first.
- Organization XIII: Only canon characters can be in Organization XIII. Reason being, there are specifically 13(XIII) members in Organization XIII. Let's leave it that way.
How do I stay active?
Keep posting. If you make a character, and don't use it, why should it be there. If a canon character goes inactive, it's up for grabs. However if an OC goes inactive, it is moved to the graveyard and is unable to be used again.
How many characters may I have?
You may have up to 4 characters. Be sure to keep all your characters active. Also, your characters cannot interact in a thread together in the same post. Alternate characters for different threads or replies. It's only fair.
Can my original character have a Keyblade?
More on this soon, restrictions are being worked out and defined and will be posted in the near future.
I don't want to be deleted due to inactivity, but I'm going to be offline for a while. What do I do?
If you know you will be inactive for a while, and you don't want to worry about activity checks, post in the departures board and let us know. Also let us know how long you will be gone. We are reasonable if you do this. We don't like seeing members randomly disappearing, it worries us a little. So please let us know. Also post again when you return. If you're not back by 1 week after when you said you would be back, you will be counted as inactive, and on the list to be deleted.
Trolling/Baiting?
Trolling is the act of deliberately getting under someone's skin. It is criticism that doesn't affect anyone in any positive way. Trolling is pretty much a way of disrespect. It isn't allowed. Along with Baiting, which is the act of attempting to get someone to Troll, to get them in trouble. It also isn't allowed.
Images and Links
We don't care if you are sending a link to a video, or a picture. We do care however, if your links or images are inappropriate, sexual, and above the rating of PG-13. Please keep these links and images at a PG-13 level.
Violence and Swearing Levels
As we allow you to swear, we want you to keep it at a minimum, and no letting your swear words become a direct attack against someone. We understand that they are words, and they slip sometimes, but leave these words to a minimum.
When role playing, we want you to be as detailed as possible. But we don't want you to go all out gory, bloodshed, and killing. There are no deaths here at Awakened Hearts. Please keep things to a minimum when role playing.
The Anything Rule
This rule exists for rules that do not exist already. As you know, we can't just write every rule on here. It would take thread after thread after thread, to get everything on here. So the conclusion to this is that whatever staff say, goes. Pretty much, this rule exists in case a member says "Well it doesn't say that in the rules." Well if you are doing something, that the staff doesn't like, it will be counted as rule breaking.
Rules may be added, updated, or changed in the future.
